She stands there before me
a crumbling flower
not what she used to be
stripped of who she was
And so she cries
I used to cling to her
needing her shelter
needing her warm arms
now she clings to me
And so she cries
And I am a memory
of better days past
and I am a reminder
of what they've become
And so she cries
She stands there before me
broken and pieced together
lost in her role
scared and confused
And so she cries
